Decisions

What do I want??Well what does one want? How much am I ready to give for that want? Why do we have to give for anything and everything we want?? Why do I take decisions? why or why I don't follow them? We all need to sit and lock ourselves alone in a room! Where no one else thinks for us.
Whenever we take a decision something or person or situation has their affect on it and as a result it is never our own decision. Influence as small as an atmosphere also matters. It changes one's mood and as a result your mood affects your decision. Why is life like this? The person who claims to be level headed is also influenced by his own caged thoughts and beliefs. The world is the deciding factor sometimes. At times, its the society, or family and friends.
'Words' written, spoken, heard, read...'thoughts' shared, unshared..all have their own influence on one when decision is taken! And here I am talking of the unintended thoughts, words or deeds. Intended ones we can easily ignore! Its like the known and the unknown enemy, where the unknown is the one we have to beware of.
When we do something for someone...like charity, help, volunteering etc..Is it actually for them???
I beg my friends - Rethink...When we agree to someone, Is it their decision or ours??? What if we choose to disagree??
Is it not our thoughts again who influence our choice of decision??
When a lady chooses over her family for career or vice versa, Is it her decision? If not what is her decision??
We all have been blessed with the disguised blessings of power(???) to decide! Its like that winged bird whose legs are tied..It can flutter but fly not!
So we humans do what we can best do - Take decisions and justify them! For Justification saves you from many sins!!

Hello again,Thought stirring write up. My medical background influences my thinking,I apologize if I sound inhuman.Humans, linked in relationships by marriage, bloodline or emotional, grow like a cancerous tumor into each others lives.they can be benign (can be removed surgically without side affects and a normal life can be resumed. So benign ones need not be bothered while taking decisions. But in case of malignant(its growth keeps spreading all over the system , and removing the tumor doesn't cure it),your decisions will necessarily be depending upon them , as you cant afford to ignore them. they are in your blood stream.each person in family, society is like a cancer to each other, entwined into each others lives. But it is up to you to judge if they are benign or malignant and act accordingly. Your acts of kindness, charity etc are nothing but a search to cure yourself from the decease and actually is a sublimated act of selfishness to make oneself feel good.Like chemotherapy.

Hello Namu ji are you a doctor??well what i understand by your comment is that human influence can be temporary or permanent on one and it depends on one how to take them. Right??But I am really surprised why everything (apart from humans also) leaves its influence?!!

I am a paramedic and had studied clinical psychology for a while. Not that it gave me a higher understanding of human psychology more than a seat of the pants feeling, and I am reduced to conclude that bookish knowledge , like a formal repute, has its price. As you said, everything around us, such as beliefs, religion, social ties, reasons, biases, emotions, memories etc influence our decision making . For me when it it comes to make a choice I never made before, i simply transform myself and play the entire role in my mind where world is so perfect, sometimes so well i can almost see, hear, feel the effects. having lived that i return back to normal self from this journey of mind.result is usually calm and peace. something like meditation.
To ease the pain of decision making, there is something known as prototype matching. See what choices you have, and imagine a prototype person for that situation. now compare your ideal self to both persons and see who is closer in match with you. Example..To take a bus or walk to the market.imagine a young person ,physically fit and fond of walking taking a walk while another person groggy with sleep, tired will choose bus, third person, who is sick, will not go at all. which one in choice is closer in resemblance to your ideal self? that choice may be best suited to you. decision making made easier..just a suggestion. don't take it seriously. Have a field of a day.
